Area Recreation

Jeffersonville and the surrounding area is rich with outdoor sporting activities set in the beautiful countryside and Green Mountains of Vermont. Photographers and artists are also lured to the area by the fantastic views and seasonal colors. Smuggler’s Notch Family Resort and mountain pass is located only 5 minutes from Jeffersonville, providing access to the Long Trail, ice and rock climbing, downhill and cross-country skiing, snowboarding, mountain biking, and an array of other activities. Two other major ski resorts, Stowe and Jay Peak are also just 45 minutes away. 

The Lamoille River wends its way through the valley providing excellent paddling opportunities. Boating, camping, and fishing on nearby Green River and Waterbury Reservoirs are also popular summertime locations. Miles of trails for horseback riding, running, mountain-biking and cross-country skiing are the main attraction for many people in the area, and the smaller rivers that cross the landscape are excellent for fly-fishing enthusiasts.
